10 Concepts Ford Should Have Built

Ford Should Have Built These

I agree with all of these. Bronco would be a sweet Escape/Sub-Escape car.

I still think Ford should build the Continental: Put it on the Panther platform, keep it body on frame, air suspension, aluminum body panels, suicide doors, Give it an ecoboost 5.0litre V8, and an ecoboost 6.0litre V12 (two 3.0litre Ecoboost V6's on a common crank). Give it a brilliant interior, stretch the wheelbase, price it around 65k, cut rate Roller, with that American style and class....or do it on the Australian Falcon platform...

Interceptor, build it on the Australian Falcon platform, or build it on Panther, just throw some more power at it, a solid rear can be tuned to handle well, give it a good suspension set up (Parry-Jones in the hizzouse), they know how to do it, swap the steering rack, and give it a proper six speed auto, and a manual trans option, 3.5litre v6, 3.5litre Ecoboost, 5.0litre Ecoboost V8 or in that V8's stead a 5.4litre S/C SVT version. Done. They should have done this when 300C/Charger took off, they could've easily gotten big sales.
Mercury Messenger: take 1 part Mustang Platform, add 1 Part IRS. Done. Powertrain: 3.5litre Ecoboost v6, 5.0litre Ecoboost v8, sell it. Or, go with the 3.5litre Ecoboost V6, and a S/C 4.6 litre V8 and the S/c 5.4 w/ aluminum block at the top end. Price it 5-8k higher than the Mustang, stretch the wheel base a bit make it into a true 2+2/GT car, give it fancy suspension tuning (MRC or something), Bam, Gentlemans Mustang for the Family man.

Ford Gr-1, all the suspension/powertrain/development was already done, all they had to do was tool for body/frame, do a limited run price it the same as a Ford GT (not the 'stang), bam, prove Ford can do futuristic as well as Retro, a modern day Shelby Daytona Coupe. Get some more money out of the GT development, they also could do a Shelby Cobra (remember the concept) version as well, and get even more bang for their buck.
